Abstract: Natural fiber composites have been widely used in transportation and construction industry due to their high performance, low cost, and recyclability. Permeability of natural fiber fabric has a significant impact on the accuracy of LCM flow simulation, which will give useful guidance for parameter optimization, mold design and quality control. This review introduces measurement theory and equipment used for natural fiber. The effects of many factors on natural fiber permeability are discussed in details. Also, the difference of permeability between natural fiber and glass fiber is highlighted and the research directions of natural fiber permeability are pointed out.
