Abstract: This article is on the basis of the 500kV FRP repair tower model test study. Axial compression test was conducted to several different specifications and different slenderness ratio of FRP tube section members. Axial compression member stability bearing capacity is the key factor influencing the bearing capacity of the members. Based on the study of the stability of the glass steel compression members, get the stable bearing capacity of members. And study their deformation characteristics, failure pattern and stability coefficient. Comparison of the test value of stability coefficient and calculated value from different standards, the writer fitted an axial compression design stability coefficient expression.

Key words: fiber reinforced plastics, tube, axially loaded compression members, stability coefficient
