Abstract: The mechanical properties of synthetic quartz of unsaturated polyester resin are compared for different recipes of the complex initiation system. The initiation system consists of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) and tert-butyl peroxy-2-ethylhexanoate (OT). The non-isothermal curing kinetics of the unsaturated polyester resin with complex initiation system was studied using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Kissinger and Crane equations are used to obtain the curing kinetics model of unsaturated polyester based on the experimental data obtained. Then, the model developed was verified and modified and better agreement with experiments was achieved.
