RESEARCH SITUATION OF CONTINUOUS QUARTZ FIBER REINFORCED SILICA COMPOSITES

Abstract

Abstract: At present, the Sol-gel method is the main method for preparing continuous quartz fiber reinforced silica (SiO_2f/SiO₂) composites. In this paper, the factors affecting the densification of SiO_2f/SiO₂ composites are introduced. The research progress of SiO_2f/SiO₂ composites is reviewed. Some suggestions for the preparation of SiO_2f/SiO₂ composites and moisture-proof coatings are proposed. And the future application of the SiO_2f/SiO₂ composites are prospected.
