Abstract: In this paper, 3 GFRP hollow cylinders and 3 GFRP cylinders filled with concrete were tested under the lateral bending. The load-displacement curve, the load-strain curve and the ultimate load of each specimen were obtained in the end. The test results show that, with the longitudinal-transverse ratio of fiber layers increasing, the ultimate load of both kinds of specimens and the bending stiffness of hollow specimens would be improved. However, it also indicates that the changes of fiber longitudinal-horizontal proportion have little influences on the specimens filled with concrete. What's more, with the length-to-diameter ratio decreasing, the ultimate load and the bending stiffness of both kinds of specimens would be improved, and the influence will become more evident for the specimens filled with concrete.
