Abstract: Due to the advantages such as lightweight, high-strength, damping, anti-corrosion, glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) has been widely used in bridge engineering severing in extreme environment. This work designed a 10m+10m span passenger bridge which mainly employs the pultrusion FRP, and verified its mechanical response to the static load, free vibration and earthquake impact load by the finite element method. The results show that the bridge has low weight, with high safety margin and the natural frequency of vibration, and can effectively shorten the construction period of the scene. The analysis results in this paper would be a certain engineering significance for the FRP bridge design.
