Abstract: Continuous basalt fibre reinforced polymer/plastic(BFRP) is a new fibrous composite. Compared with other fiber reinforced polymer/plastic,BFRP has many advantages in ductility, high thermal resistance, corrosion resistance and cost. Flexural experimental are conducted on four two-span T section continuous beams strengthened with BFRP and one comparative beam. Bearing capacity and failure mode of each beam is studied. The results show that yield load, ultimate load, and ductility of strengthened beams are remarkably increased and improved.
