Abstract:

Carboxyl functionalizedmultiwalled carbon nanotubes (COOHMWNTs) were prepared as nanoreinforcement for T1000 carbon fiber/epoxy composites. COOHMWNTs can be uniformly dispersed in epoxy matrix. The experimental results show the interfacial properties and heatresistance properties of composite were improved. Mechanical test of filament wound composites exhibit a 28% enhancement in the shear strength after adding 1wt % COOHMWNTs.
