STUDIES ON THE LONGTERM MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF FRP TENDONS

  • Online:2009-11-28 Published:2009-06-25

Abstract:

Because of excellent corrosive resistance, FRP has been taken as an attractive

alternative reinforcing material for steel to the corrosion problem. At the same time, FRP provides

a high strength, good fatigue properties, low relaxation and creep rates, etc. Based on extensive

reading of references at home and abroad, this paper describes the newest research work on the long term mechanical properties of FRP tendons.

Key words: FRP tensons, fatigue, stress relaxation, creep
