Abstract: Combined with an engineering practice in Chengde, Hebei province, the vehicle static load tests were carried out to test the force conditions of FRPM pipe as buried culvert for guiding actual engineering. Its force conditions are closely related with different filling heights and loads. Therefore, on the basis of stress characters obtained by field measurement, under condition of plain strain, the Pipe-Soil interaction model of field tests is established by ABAQUS for numerical analysis in order to reduce numbers and manpower costs of traditional tests. The results show that the pipe culvert buried under the minimum 0.5 m in soil. And, under different vehicle loads, the maximum deformation of the pipe culvert is 1.3 mm, and the stress of the pipe culvert is good. By comparing the results of static load test and numerical simulation results, the validity of the model was proved.
