COPOLYMERIZATION OF DIETHYNYLBENZENE WITH 4,4'-DIPROPARGYL DIPHENYLETHER AND COPOLYMER PROPERTIES

Abstract:

Copolymers,modified Polyarylacetylene (MPAA),of diethynylbenzene with 4,4'-dipropargyl diphe- nylether were prepared.The rheological and cure behavior of MPAA was investigated by using viscometer and DSC method respectively.The results revealed that MPAA showed excellent processability and offered lower cure exother- mic heat than PAA' s.Dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) indicated that the cured MPAA resin showed good heat resistance with a glass transition temperature of over 340℃,and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) indicated cured MPAA resins held high thermal stability.The glass fabrics reinforced MPAA composites were prepared and their properties were tested,the MPAA composites exhibited improved mechanical properties.
