Abstract: Taking the single tower of a flange type made of composite material as study background, composite single pole of a plug-in type was designed in the same design conditions as the original project, and under three typical load conditions, its stresses, deflections and stability safety factors were simulated and analyzed by FEM(finite element method) software. Results reveal that the hoop stress in the plug-in area is too large and in the weak location of the structure. Two reinforcement programs in the plug-in area were put forward and calculated and results show: for internal intubation, the effect of using steel liners as reinforcement is relatively obvious. Finally, the single pole of plug-in type was designed for anti-torsion, and a methods of using glue and bolts to prevent the pole from torsion was put forward.
