Abstract: Acetone was used to extract the treatment agents on the surface of T700 carbon fiber fabric, and the major chemical components of treatment agents were analyzed, where the relationships between the extraction time and the content of treatment agents on the surface of carbon fiber fabric were studied. Carbon fibers reinforced composites with different content of treatment agents were prepared by vacuum-assisted resin infusion molding (VARI) process, and their mechanical properties were tested. The results indicated that the main component of treatment agents was BPA epoxy resin, with content of ~1.5%. Additionally, the surface roughness was increased after solvent extraction, which improved the wettability of resin matrix. Moreover, the mechanical properties, especially the bending strength, were significantly increased.
