Defects areas located by using ultrasonic scanning were anatomized microscopically to investigate

the relationships between the ultrasonic pulse wave characteristics and micromorphology of

defects. Based on the experimental identification method depended on wave analysis method, the

ultrasonic attenuation of 3D braided composites was discussed from the point of the distribution of

carbon filaments and the interfaces between carbon fiber bundles and resin. The experimental results

show that the characteristics of ultrasonic propagation and attenuation in the composites are

related to the microstructure and some defects within the 3D braided composites. The

Unsaturated polyester resin(UPR) is used as matrix, glass fiber cloth, ramie fiber cloth

and/or basic magnesium sulfated whisker are used as reinforcement to form composites by compression

molding process. The variations of moisture absorption and mechanical properties of different

composites with immersion time in water at 30℃ and 50℃ respectively were studied. The results show

that, the water uptakes of all the composites increase with immersion time in water, the

composites absorb water much fast from 0h to 8h, then relaxedly or unchanged. The water uptakes at

50℃ are always more than those at 30℃|the reinforcement of glass fiber cloth on UPR is far better

than ramie cloth| hybrid with whisker will decrease the tensile and impact strengths of the

composites containing either glass cloth or ramie cloth, but increase their flexural strengths and

tensile moduli. With the prolong of immersion time in water, the tensile strengths of the

composites reinforced with glass cloth along or glass cloth and whisker together at 30℃ and 50℃

will decrease| the impact strengths of the composites reinforced with ramie cloth reach the maxima

of 49.1kJ/m2  and 48.8 kJ/m2 at 30℃ and 50℃ respectively when immersed in water for 16h,

accordingly 98.78% and 97.57% increased from those before immersion, and the impact strengths of

the composites reinforced with the hybrid of ramie cloth and whisker increase monotonously with time

at the two temperatures through the whole water immersion test.

Selecting H60 PVC foam, fouraxis Eglass nonwoven fabric and vinyl resin, a type of innovative reinforced sandwich composite as lattice reinforced sandwich (LRS) are fabricated by VIMP. The fabrication results show that VIMP is a highspeed and costeffective manufacturing method because of the resin flow channel provided by the acuminate grooves in both sides of foam core. The lattice in LRS along core’s height assure an even flow on both sides of core that can complete the filling process in a short time. The shear, flatwise compression and flexural behavier of LRS are enhanced compared with the traditional sandwich. The flexural ultimate bearing capacity of LRS are studied which can be used as reference to engineering practice.

The aging behavior of 191# unsaturated polyester resin and its GFRP have been studied by artificial thermooxidation aging and artificial xenon arc lamp aging. The morphology and glossiness of specimens were investigated by microscope and glossmeter respectively. The yellowness index (YI) was tested by differential colorimeter. The unsaturated polyester resin was analysed by FTIR and DMA. The tensile strength and bend strength of the specimens were measured. With aging evolving, the appearance of the specimens changed more and more yellow, its glossiness reduced, and appeared some crack on the sample’s surface. These changes were related to the aging mode. The DMA showed that after xenon arc lamp aged 90d, Tg of the resin was from 84℃ to 88℃, and to 83℃after aged 240d, and its storage energy decreased gradually. Mechanical strength of the specimens increased at first then decreased. The aging of the resin and its composites were more susceptible to xenon arc lamp than thermooxidation.

According to experimental results, the strength of structure’s tensile failure was found and three kinds of typical tensile failure modes were built up, then the failure mechanism was analyzed.

In order to make composite process decision knowledge mine automatically, based on analyzing decision knowledge of the resin composite process,a composite process data mining model is established based on rough set.A composite decision mining method based on knowledge dependence is presented, which uses knowledge dependence algorithm to preprocess and reduce the process data, the process decision tree is established at the same time. The efficiency of decision tree generation can be improved by using the method. At last,an example is illustrated to verify the validity of the method, and the composite process decision rules may obtained automatically.

The tensile property,high-temperature resistance and dielectric property of silicone resin/silica fiber composites were studied. Results showed that pretreatment methods of fiber had important influence on the tensile property of fiber and composites.Agent on the surface of fiber could be removed completely by way of dipping in tol- uene and then heating at 350℃for 400 seconds, meanwhile keeping an acceptable tensile strength of silica fiber. The composites could keep excellent mechanical and dielectric properties after high temperature heat treatment. The tensile strength of the composites was over 360MPa and the dielectric constant was below 3.30,which met the re- quirements of antenna mask.

Many new type of composites come forth continuously recently, such as thermosetting composites and thermoplastic composites. These materials are widely used in aviation, spaceflight and architecture. As a result, the research of mechanical properties has attracted much attention at home and abroad. In this paper, elasticity theory has been employed, according to condition of incompressibility in fluid mechanics, analyzed mechanical properties for the thermoplastic composites.Constitutive relationships of anisotropic viscous materials, transversely isotropic materials were obtained.Viscosity parameters η11,η12,η22,η23 were determined by the micromechanics analysis.According to the research of laminates deformation, the constitutive equation and viscosity parameters′ijare obtained. Then these results are discussed.

Compare with ordinary steel rebars, FRP tendons have the characteristics of high tensile strength, noncorrosive, light weight and low elastics modulus, etc, which have been taken as an attractive alternative reinforcing material for steel to the corrosion problem However, FRP’s transverse strength is very low, studies on shear behaviors of concrete structures with FRP tendons have been emphasized in engineering structure field This paper briefly introduces the main progresses in the studies on shear behaviors from nonprestressed and prestressed concrete beams with FRP tendons Finally, advices for advanced research are proposed

The chemorheology behaviors of curing reaction of benzocyclobuteneterminated imide were studied with rheometer. The curing process was investigated by dynamic heating and isothermal methods, and three curing stages were found.Apparent physical activation energy of flow calculated by Arrhenius equation was 195.9kJ/mol.Apparent chemical activation energy of flow and apparent curing reaction activation energy were calculated by Roller equation, respectively. The results show that the viscosity characteristic of resin follows the Roller equation very well, and viscosity characteristic of resin can be predicted by the Roller equation in the whole curing process.
