Abstract: Polyester resin-based photoluminescent composites were prepared by using unsaturated polyester resin with different amounts of rare-earth phosphor powders. The effects of the amounts of phosphor powders on the properties of resin were studied. The results demonstrate that resin can be combined with phosphor powders well through mechanical mix and ultrasonic operations. Luminescence quenching phenomenon is not observed and the light emission effect is enhanced with increasing the amount of phosphor powders. Phosphor powders /resin CM with the best mechanical properties was obtained when the mass fraction of phosphor powders is ten percents.
